How long does it take to set-up my server?
Within 6 hours of receiving your order but typically within the hour if your order is received during normal business hours. Upon activation you will receive an email message including all your server information.
What are your contract and payment terms?
We invoice in yearly (12 months) or quarterly (4 months) increments, with a minimum of one year contracts. We accept American Express, MasterCard and Visa.
Do you back-up your servers?
Our servers are backed up to a separate system regularly but we encourage our customers to maintain backup archives of their websites using the backup utility in your control panel.
How fast is your network?
The NOCs are connected via a OC3C connection and we utilize redundant connections to major backbones such as Verio, Level3, Williams, Internap and MFN.
How reliable is your network?
Extremely reliable. All our equipment resides in a secure, temperature-controlled environment with full UPS and multiple power grids.
Where are your servers physically located?
Both our Network Operation Centers (NOC) are located in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Can I use my account for commercial purposes?
Sure! But we recommend you do not collect credit card or personal information from your clients over the Internet unless you have a SSL capable server plan and a digital/ssl certificate set-up.

How do I password protect a directory within my web site?
Go to your control panel (ie. http://home-canada.com:2082) and select ‘Password Protect Directories’ from the Domain Menu. Select the folder to protect by clicking on its name. Then, add usernames and passwords for authorized users.

How do I upload files to my website?
Files must be uploaded/transferred to your server via FTP (File Transfer Protocol) or published with Microsoft FrontPage (FrontPage extensions must be enabled). You have unlimited 24x7 FTP/MS FrontPage access.
How much bandwidth will be accepted as "reasonable"?
Most websites we host do not exceed 1gb/month in bandwidth usage. Usage acceptability is judged in proportion to the plan size. (ie. A 500mb website who uses 75% of the 8gb/month bandwidth allocated to a 1gb server is unacceptable).
What happens if my bandwidth usage is judged unacceptable?
Firstly, we'll investigate to find the cause of such usage. If its temporary and its not frequent, we'll probably only invite you to monitor your usage more closely. Otherwize, you may be charged for extra bandwidth at $5.00/gb.
What is the maximum number of mySQL simultaneous connections allowed?
There is no limit per account but servers are limited to a maximum of 500 simultaneous connections. Therefore, any reasonable use is allowed.
What is domain-based webhosting?
Virtual domain webhosting allows you to register and use your own domain, ie: www.yourdomain.com.
What is IP-based webhosting?
Certain plans provide you with a static IP address, which allows you to use Anonymous FTP and your own digital SSL certificate.
Why don't you assign an IP to each website?
IP addresses are rare and expensive which places heavy restrictions on ISPs. As such, we can only assign them where absolutely necessary.
